Brush or Floss First?

Does it matter if you floss first or brush first? Today, we're going to debunk the age old question.

As long as a thorough job is done on both, it actually doesn’t matter. But flossing prior to brushing helps the fluoride from toothpaste reach between your teeth. At the end of the day, you're doing both, which is what really matters. Flossing cleans parts of your teeth that your toothbrush can't reach. So, stick to your habits and floss on a regular basis.

Brushing After Coffee?

In this blogging series, The Dollar Brush team is excited to share tips on taking care of those pearly whites.

Should you brush your teeth after drinking coffee? Many people typically brush their teeth after a breakfast that involves coffee or tea. Although it makes intuitive sense to brush after a meal, it could be more harmful for your teeth.

It’s better to wait at least 30 minutes after drinking coffee. Because coffee is acidic, it can break down the teeth’s enamel. Brushing right after drinking coffee will remove the enamel, leaving your teeth vulnerable to other harmful bacteria.

What happens if you forget to brush before drinking coffee? You can rinse your mouth with some mineral water. Saliva will then be restored, which naturally restores the minerals on your teeth and reduces the acidity from your coffee.
